Spotify unveils Official 2026 Songs of Summer predictions and new in-app fan voting

Spotify has officially launched its 2026 Songs of Summer predictions, revealing a curated list of 30 tracks poised to define the sunny season across the Northern Hemisphere. Handpicked by Spotify’s global editorial team, this year’s forecast features a diverse array of musical styles, prominently spotlighting nostalgic club anthems, pop-princess melodies, and sun-soaked global dance hits expected to dominate UK airwaves and playlists.

In a first for the streaming platform, Spotify is introducing an interactive in-app voting feature directly embedded within the official Songs of Summer playlist. This new tool grants listeners the opportunity to cast their own predictions for the definitive track of the season. Users can simply tap a dedicated button at the top of the playlist to submit their selection and share their personal choices across various social media channels and messaging networks.

Spotify’s music editors highlighted several prominent sonic trends shaping this year’s seasonal soundtrack. High-energy pop anthems remain a major force, spearheaded by Zara Larsson’s enduring hit “Midnight Sun.” Meanwhile, the electronic landscape is heavily steeped in retro influences. Tracks such as “Girl Like Me” by PinkPantheress and Bebe Rexha’s collaboration with Faithless on “New Religion” utilize strategic samples from historical club classics. Similarly, Prospa and Cloonee’s “Free Your Mind” and ANOTR’s “Talk To You” channel the distinct energies of 1990s house music, classic disco, and early-2000s French electronica.

On a global scale, the predictions reflect a rich fusion of international party records. The list features crossover hits like DopeNation’s “Kakalika,” which blends Ghanaian azonto with South African amapiano, and Aria Vega and Ryan Castro’s “CHÉVERE,” a track driving Caribbean and Latin afrobeats energy.

The comprehensive list of heavy hitters features a balanced mixture of domestic and international stars. Notable entries driving the summer forecast include high-profile collaborations like Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s dominant “Rein Me In,” alongside individual standout releases from global heavyweights Ariana Grande, Dave, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, and Noah Kahan. The complete, interactive playlist is currently streaming live.
