Steven Wilson announces special Royal Albert Hall gigs as only live shows of 2026

Steven Wilson has announced two special shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which will be his only live shows of the year.

The newly shared dates come on the heels of the prog star’s 2025’s globe-spanning tour, celebrating the release of his latest album ‘The Overview’.

Now, he has confirmed that he will be returning to the historic venue in London again this spring, and playing two exclusive shows later in the year.

The dates will take place on Wednesday October 28 and Thursday October 29, and will mark Wilson’s seventh time taking to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall.

While he has played there before, he assures fans that these two upcoming sets will see him break out a set unlike any seen before. This will see him accompanied by the Parallax Orchestra and a choir of singers, and performing previously unheard arrangements of The Overview tracks prepared especially for these gigs.

He also adds that the arrangements were made with help from one of the Parallax Orchestra’s founders Simon Dobson, and that these two live shows will be his only live dates for 2026.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (February 20) at 10am. Visit here for tickets.

Steven Wilson’s 2026 live shows are:

OCTOBER
28 – London, Royal Albert Hall
29 – London, Royal Albert Hall

‘The Overview’ marked the eighth solo album from the multi-instrumentalist, producer and Porcupine Tree star. It was inspired by the Overview Effect – the phenomenon experienced by astronauts when they first view Earth from outer space.

Wilson spoke to NME last year about the record, and explained how it could be interpreted as a “return to prog”.

“It’s not a nostalgic sounding record, but I hold my hands up and say it’s an old-fashioned piece of conceptual rock, in the tradition of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ and ‘Tubular Bells’,” he said. “That’s a constant throughout my career. But this record, because it’s a concept of two long pieces, plays even more into a progressive rock trope.”

He continued: “I was very aware some fans would love ‘The Overview’ as an idea. I was more worried about how my record company, management and the media would take it.”

Earlier this month, Wilson revealed that he had “nearly finished” work on a “very strange” new album.
