Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Says He’ll No Longer Sign Autographs After Shows: ‘Please Don’t Be Offended’

Kevin Parker is pressing pause on autographs.

The Tame Impala mastermind took to Instagram Stories on Monday to tell fans that, going forward, they shouldn’t expect him to stop for signatures or photos outside hotels or airports. Parker expressed that a rise in aggressive autograph collectors has made him uncomfortable with the encounters. More specifically, the uneasiness grew when he noticed that some of these encounters involved children.

“I wasn’t that passionate about it before but they’ve started using kids which I think is all kinds of wrong,” Parker wrote, while asking fans not to take it personally if he declines a photo or autograph.

Parker also shared a screenshot explaining the world of “autograph hounds,” a term commonly used for collectors who track down celebrities in hopes of obtaining autographs or other memorabilia and then turning around and selling them for profit. But the issue at hand, he explained, has gone beyond just being asked for an autograph.

The “Dracula” singer also confirmed that he’s stepping back from meeting fans outside of concert venues after shows. Parker said he had been doing so for a period of time during the European leg of his tour, but the crowds eventually became too large to manage safely.

“The numbers were getting out of control and we don’t have the security to manage it,” he wrote, adding that there was an “obvious security risk.” According to Parker, his team did ask him to ultimately stop coming outside after performances.

Parker still made it clear that the decision wasn’t about distancing himself from Tame Impala’s fanbase. He ended his message by encouraging fans to enjoy the shows and get home safely.

Parker is in the middle of Tame Impala’s sprawling Deadbeat Tour, supporting the psychedelic pop project’s fifth studio album, Deadbeat. The North American run is currently scheduled through Sept. 20 before the tour continues internationally.

Released in October 2025, Deadbeat gave Tame Impala one of its biggest commercial moments. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and was further fueled by its hit single “Dracula,” which Parker later turned into a collaboration with BLACKPINK‘s JENNIE. The song became Tame Impala’s first Billboard Hot 100 entry, debuting at No. 55 in October 2025 before reaching a peak of No. 5 so far.
