Tatsuya Endo’s ‘SPY×FAMILY’ Vol. 17 Tops Billboard Japan Book Hot 100

Tatsuya Endo’s SPY×FAMILY Vol. 17 debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Book Hot 100, on the list released Apr. 9.

The latest volume of the hit comedy action series about a makeshift family consisting of a spy, an assassin, and a mind-reading child claims the top spot after dominating brick-and-mortar sales and e-books, while also scoring points on the social media and e-commerce (EC) metrics.

ONE PIECE Vol. 114 climbs 4-2 after the digital edition became available on April 3, keeping the title inside the top 10 for a fifth consecutive week. Similarly, Wanpanman (One-Punch Man) Vol. 36 soared 84-4 after the release of its digital version.

Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan Vol. 23 debuts at No. 3, placing No. 3 in brick-and-mortar and No. 4 in e-books.

Outside the top 10, Leiya Seguchi’s Second Photo Book “Lei” tops the EC metric to bow at No. 15. The latest volume of Oni no Hanayome (The Ogre’s Bride) — whose live-action film adaptation opened Mar. 27 in Japanese cinemas — holds inside the top 20 for a second straight week. The series is also set to receive a TV anime adaptation from July.

The Billboard Japan Book Hot 100 is a comprehensive chart combining physical sales, e-books, library loans, subscription data and social media activity. Check out the top 10 titles on this week’s list below, tracking the period from Mar. 30 to Apr. 5.
