Taylor Swift has generously donated a huge sum of money to a children’s non-profit organisation.
The 35-year-old chart-topping star made the history books this year as her Eras World Tour made over $2 billion (£1.6 billion) and she has now made a stunning donation to an organisation in Kansas City.
On Monday it was revealed that the pop singer awarded $250,000 (£200,000) to the non-profit organisation Operation Breakthrough – who work to provide education and a safe environment for children living in poverty in Kansas.
Revealing the huge amount donated by the star, the organisation shared a video clip on social media featuring children holding up signs they had decorated to thank the star.
An accompanying caption on the Instagram post stated, “Thank you, @taylorswift, for making our holiday season shine even brighter!
“Your kindness and thoughtful 250K donation means the world to our children and families.”
Swift’s NFL player boyfriend, Travis Kelce – who hails from Westlake, Ohio, and has played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013 – is also a supporter of Operation Breakthrough.
He has been an advocate and financial supporter of the organisation for 10 years.
Company CEO Mary Esselman previously told USA Today, “He came for Read Across America Day. He was reading to some of the preschool classrooms … and he just kept coming back.”
