Taylor Swift has officially been recognised as the Biggest-Selling Global Artist for 2025.

On Wednesday, officials from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) announced that the Opalite hitmaker was the top artist in the world for the past year.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Taylor has dominated the IFPI Global Artist Chart and the sixth time she has won the prestigious award.

“Taylor Swift’s sixth IFPI Global Artist of the Year award is a truly historic achievement,” praised Victoria Oakley, chief executive at IFPI. “The IFPI Global Artist Chart is comprised of remarkable artists across the globe and also represents the teams and long-term commitment behind each release, ensuring fans around the world can connect with music in meaningful ways.”

Taylor has not yet commented on the news.

The singer-songwriter achieved another landmark year in 2025, having released her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, and the documentary miniseries titled The End of an Era, which chronicled her record-breaking Eras Tour.

Other names to feature in the IFPI Global Artist Chart included K-pop group Stray Kids, Drake, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish.

Lady Gaga returned to the chart for the first time since 2020, placing in 10th spot, while Ed Sheeran, SZA, and Justin Bieber also re-entered the listings – all ranking within the top 20.

The Global Artist of the Year Award is calculated on an artist’s or group’s worldwide sales across streaming, download, and physical music formats during the calendar year. It covers their entire body of work.
