Taylor Swift has shared how “lucky” she feels to have the guidance of Stevie Nicks.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Swift discussed everything from her engagement to Travis Kelce to the upcoming Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era, and was asked who she turned to for relatable advice, given the sheer level of celebrity she’s reached.

“I try really hard not to do the whole like, ‘Oh, my god, there’s no one that can relate to what I’m going through!’ You know what I mean? Nobody wants to hear that. I don’t want to hear it,” she told Colbert.

“It annoys me when I start to go down that path. So I try to find through-lines in many people’s experiences. Like, I think we can relate to each other, even if our lives aren’t identical.”

“But that said,” she added, “I’ve been very lucky. I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly. Being able to talk to her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through, she paved the way for me and any other artist to get to do this on this level.

“So I feel very lucky that she’s lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach to life to me.”

Last year, the two went on a night out in Dublin after Swift wrapped a three-show run in the city on her ‘Eras Tour’ trek. The same night they were pictured at the Hacienda bar, Nicks was seen looking visibly emotional at Swift’s concert after she performed ‘Midnights‘ track ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’.

The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman previously thanked the singer-songwriter for penning the song because it captured how she felt about losing Christine McVie.

Elsewhere in that set, Swift dedicated the live debut of ‘Clara Bow’ to Nicks, the first time ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ track had been played live.

“I’ve never played this song live at all,” she said at the show, before explaining: “The reason I want to play this tonight is because a friend of mine is here who is watching the show is one of the reasons why I or any other female artists get to do what I get to do.

“She’s paved the way for us… she’s a hero of mine and also someone I could tell any secret to; she’d never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years. I’m talking about Stevie Nicks.”

In other Taylor Swift news, it recently emerged that a coordinated online attack was launched to accuse her of having Nazi connections, which fans inadvertently may have helped gain momentum.
