‘The Celebrity Traitors’ season two premiere date announced – watch the trailer

The premiere date for The Celebrity Traitors season two has been announced. Watch the official trailer below.

The BBC confirmed late last year that the show would be returning for another run of episodes, before sharing the full line-up ahead of filming commencing this spring.

Richard E Grant, Michael Sheen, and The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey are among this year’s contestants, joined by Industry star Myha’la, comedian Miranda Hart, and Love Island host Maya Jama.

Former Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock and singer-songwriter James Blunt will also be competing, as will comedians James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Romesh Ranganathan, Joanne McNally and Rob Beckett.

Elsewhere in the cast are Jerry Hall, former Coronation Street actor Julie Hesmondhalgh, EastEnders‘ Ross Kemp, broadcaster Amol Rajan and actor Sharon Rooney. Completing the line-up are mathematician Professor Hannah Fry, content creator King Kenny and actor Sebastian Croft.

Now, it’s been revealed The Celebrity Traitors season two will kick off on Thursday October 1 at 8pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.

For the first time, viewers will find out how host Claudia Winkleman chooses her Traitors in the new spin-off show Traitor Or Faithful? Claudia Decides. The official video podcast The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked is also returning to BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, hosted by Ed Gamble.

In a new official trailer, Winkleman tells the celebrities: “Players, I have chosen my Traitors. Ramsey then says: “My heart is racing.” Winkleman adds: “There are now killers among you…” Tune in above.

Per a description, the contestants will “question who they can and can’t really trust, figure out who deserves to be banished and try to discover which of them is plotting murder under the cover of darkness”. The players will battle it out to win a large cash prize for a charity of their choice.

The first season of The Celebrity Traitors saw comedian Alan Carr clinch victory in a dramatic finale, which won the Memorable Moment prize at the BAFTA TV Awards in May. The show picked up the Best Reality award at the ceremony, too.

The Celebrity Traitors landed at Number Eight on NME‘s 20 best TV shows of 2025 list, where it was hailed as “reality TV at its most gleefully devious”.

Other participants in season one included Cat Burns, Jonathan Ross, Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Nick Mohammed and Tom Daley.

Earlier this year, former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby revealed that she had reached out to join the second season. However, she was apparently told that bosses would not be taking on anyone from reality shows.

Elsewhere, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher said he’d “been asked” to appear on The Celebrity Traitors season two.

Meanwhile, the fourth season of the regular UK version of The Traitors wrapped up in January.
