Over 40 new artists have been added to the line-up for 2026’s Iceland Airwaves, including The Itch, Any Young Mechanic and Heartworms.

This year’s instalment is set to run between November 5 and 7, and will be the 27th edition of the music festival.

Set to take place in Reykjavík, the three-day event transforms the city into a hub of cultural discovery and creative opportunities. As well as live musical performances, there will also be series of networking events, a music industry conference programme, lively discussions and more.

The first wave of artists confirmed included Adult DVD, Amor Vincit Omnia, Arima Ederra, KOIKOI, HER, Dove Ellis, Davis Bay, PISS, Júníus Meyvant and more.

Now, over 40 new names have been added, including former NME Cover star Heartworms. The appearance will come after the South London artist dropped debut album ‘Glutton For Punishment’ last year, and went on to perform on Later…with Jools Holland.

Also joining the line-up are fellow Londonders The Itch, who will make their Icelandic debut having spent the past year-and-a-half months playing some immense basement parties around the UK, and soul pioneer Jamie Woon.

Emerging Adelaide folk band Any Young Mechanic are joining the bill too, as are local band Andervel, electro-pop group SCAM, Ireland’s Jamie Duffy, and UK acts like Esmeralda Road, Formal Sppeedwear, Revenge of Calculon and more.

Announced today (Thursday June 18), topics of discussion at the conference events will include ‘Anybody in There? Human Curation in the Age of the Algorithm’, and ‘From Local to Global: Against The Odds’.

Other big moments at the upcoming festival will include events with Shygirl, The Streets and Daði Freyr & The Iceland Symphony Orchestra

The Iceland festival was launched in 1999 as a one-off event in an airplane hangar, and has grown to become the world’s most northerly music showcase and industry festival.

Last year’s edition featured performances from Fat Dog, Jasmine.4.t, Kenya Grace, Antony Szmierek, Deadletter, The Orchestra (For Now), Babymorocco, Ratbag, Superkoloritas and Jelena Ciric.
