The Libertines announce huge Eden Sessions show with Frank Turner and Sports Team

The Libertines have announced a huge one-off Eden Sessions show for this summer, with Frank Turner and Sports Team supporting.

The band will play at the iconic venue in Cornwall on July 13 as part of the annual summer series of shows at the visitor attraction and botanical gardens near St. Austell.

“Heading to Cornwall for @edensessionsofficial,” the band wrote on Instagram on Friday (May 9). Support will come from Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Sports Team and Cornish natives Mên An Tol. Tickets go on general sale on May 12 here, with Eden Sessions inside track pass-holders able to buy them now here.

Rita Broe, Eden Sessions managing director, has said: “The Libertines are a band whose story is woven into the fabric of British music history – raw and uncompromising. To welcome them to the Eden Sessions for what promises to be an unforgettable, one-day celebration feels incredibly special. The event will bring together a standout lineup of exciting acts, who, combined, will be sure to deliver a passionate and powerful day – a fitting finale for this years’ Sessions season.”

Other dates at the 2025 Eden Sessions will come from Biffy Clyro, who will play on July 9 and 10 with special guests Nova Twins, Madness on July 12 and Deftones on June 26. Gary Barlow, The Script and Texas are also headlining line-ups this summer.

Kneecap’s show at the Eden Sessions was cancelled at the end of April after a turbulent period in which the Belfast trio were facing calls from politicians to be removed from festival line-ups. That followed counter-terror police confirming they were investigating footage from two of the group’s previous shows.

The band responded by immediately announcing a replacement show in Plymouth on the same date, however that show was also scrapped in the wake of the police investigation. Other Kneecap shows at the German festivals Hurricane and Southside, as well as dates in Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin, have also all been cancelled.

As for The Libertines, they are set to play numerous other outdoor UK shows this summer, including stops at London’s Gunnersbury Park, Dreamland Margate, and The Piece Hall in Halifax. Find any remaining tickets here.

Pete Doherty is also releasing his new album ‘Felt Better Alive’ on Friday (May 16), which you can pre-order/pre-save here. He has also announced a performance as part of this year’s Great Escape Festival in Brighton. Find tickets here.

Speaking to NME about the spirit of the upcoming album, Doherty said: “There can be something uplifting about resignation, but at the same time you’re not just sat at home moping and singing these things to yourself.

“You’re still going out there and singing them. I think there’s enough melancholy in this record to fill a good-sized jerry can. The idea is to splash it on the audience and see if it ignites or not.”
