London’s rising indie-punk sensations, The Molotovs, are proving that the era of the guitar band is far from over. Following a meteoric rise that saw their debut album, Wasted On Youth, crash into the Top 3 of the Official Charts, the band has announced a second headline date at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town to meet overwhelming demand. The rush for the ‘Welcome To Urbia’ tour has been nothing short of a frenzy, with over 10,000 tickets snapped up a full six months before the first note is played this September. Promoters have already been forced to open waiting lists for multiple shows across the country as fans scramble to see the siblings live.

For siblings Matt (17) and Issey Cartlidge (19), the return to the O2 Forum is a poignant full-circle moment. Issey recalls the band’s origin story, which began when they were “plucked out of the rain” by The Libertines while preparing to busk in Margate.

“It was absolutely pissing it down,” Issey says. “Carl Barât saw us and invited us into the studio to just come in and play. We ended up chatting and he invited us on that first tour. Our first gig as The Molotovs was at the Kentish Town Forum supporting them—a 20-minute set as soon as the doors opened. And now we’re doing two headline shows after the first sold out!”

The band’s relentless work ethic is paying off on a national scale. This Saturday, March 21, the siblings will bring their anthem and call to arms, ‘Today’s Gonna Be Our Day’, to The Jonathan Ross Show. It marks a massive milestone for a group that built its following through tireless gigging and a playful “chart war” with indie veterans and pop stars alike.

Recorded at Marshall Studio, Wasted On Youth is a “chemical compound” of New Wave, Punk, and Indie Sleaze that has resonated deeply with a generation seeking authenticity. With support slots for icons like Iggy Pop and Blondie already under their belts, The Molotovs are officially the breakout act of 2026.

Tickets for the newly added London date on September 26 are available now here.
