The Pretty Reckless’ ‘Where Are You Christmas?’ Hits No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart

The Pretty Reckless’ version of “Where Are You Christmas?” completes a jolly journey to No. 1 on Billboard’s Jan. 3, 2026-dated Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.

In the Dec. 19-25 data tracking period, the song totaled 2.7 million official U.S. streams (marking a 68% vault week-over-week), 326,000 radio audience impressions and 1,000 sold, according to Luminate.

The track, co-written by Mariah Carey (atop the latest Billboard Hot 100 with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for a record 22nd week), James Horner and Will Jennings for the film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, tops Hot Hard Rock Songs amid the film’s 25th anniversary. While Faith Hill performed the soundtrack version of the track, The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen, then a child actor, sang the song in the movie as Cindy Lou Who.

In The Pretty Reckless’ version, Momsen’s younger voice is heard before Momsen now and the rest of the band take over.

“Where Are You Christmas?” is The Pretty Reckless’ first No. 1 on Hot Hard Rock Songs, which began in 2020. Rising two spots, it eclipses the band’s previous best of No. 3, achieved with “Death by Rock and Roll” in 2020.

“Where Are You Christmas?” concurrently ranks at No. 6 on Hard Rock Digital Song Sales (after hitting No. 3) and No. 17 on Hard Rock Streaming Songs.

It’s also The Pretty Reckless’ highest-charting track yet on the all-rock-format Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally, reaching No. 11 and besting “Heaven Knows” (No. 17. 2014).

“Where Are You Christmas?” is on the seven-song holiday EP Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, which was released Oct. 31 and has earned 21,000 equivalent album units to date. The set spent two weeks on the Top Holiday Albums chart, peaking at No. 19.

Hill’s original hit No. 5 on the Holiday Airplay chart in December 2001. In the week ending Dec. 25, it accumulated 7.1 million streams (up 50%).
