The Weeknd and Playboi Carti have unleashed the visual to their “Timeless” anthem. The Gunner Stahl-directed clip arrived on Monday (Sept. 30) following the single’s release last week.
It’s an all-Black affair in the gloomy video as The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye) and Carti link up inside a barren warehouse. The Atlanta native elects to rock an Allen Iverson football jersey backwards, icy Opium chains, a do-rag to go with his double-horned hat. A group of scantily-clad women dancers invade the party to dance around The Weeknd and Carti, who do their best to avoid the eye candy throughout the ominous visual.
“Timeless” serves as the second single ahead of The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow album, which is the final installment of his After Hours/Dawn FM trilogy.
Fans lent their stamp of approval to the visual in the YouTube comments. “THIS DUO IS 2/2, WE NEED MORE COLLABS,” one person wrote.
Another chimed in: “Carti literally unleashed his entire Inventory/repertoire of Voices in this song!”
Playboi Carti and The Weeknd previously teamed up on “Popular” alongside Madonna in June 2023 from Tesfaye’s HBO series The Idol. The song peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Weeknd launched into his new era with “Dancing in the Flames,” which debuted at No. 14 on the Hot 100 last week. His last album, Dawn FM, arrived in January 2022 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. There’s still no word on when Hurry Up Tomorrow will be released.
