Tinashe to Republican Voters During Midterm Elections: ‘Yall Can Go’

Uplift Tinashe and she will uplift Democrats. The pop star took to X to urge her fans to vote in the midterms elections on Tuesday. โ€œVOTE OR DIE ! LETS GO AMERICA,โ€ Tinashe wrote, using 12 blue heart emojis that seemed to signify her support for Democrats.

Some Republican critics on X didnโ€™t appreciate Tinasheโ€™s post, particularly the blue emojis and potential Democrats nod. โ€œYall can participate in this illusion if you want to, not i,โ€ wrote one critic, to which the pop star replied. โ€œLame !!!!โ€ she wrote.

Ever the chronically online poster, Tinashe didnโ€™t leave anything up for debate when it came to her political party when she continued to clap back at Republican voters. โ€œYou literally just refuse to listen to those of us with sense. did you have to have the blue heartsโ€ฆalienating your red audience? girl, are you neurodivergent? it gets to a point,โ€ one critic posted. Tinashe responded, โ€œYall can go,โ€ the singer wrote, using a peace sign emoji.

Another X user wrote, โ€œYou do realize there is no telling how much money your Republican fans have given you right? Or you do realize it and just donโ€™t give a fuckโ€ฆThey still listen to you even though they donโ€™t agree with your views because they respect you and love you and you turn around and tell them to get out. What a great person. Lol will never listen to you again,โ€ they wrote.

The โ€œMelatoninโ€ singer offered a blunt reply to that post: โ€œI do not care,โ€ Tinashe wrote.

Itโ€™s not the first time the musician has spoken out about her political views. In 2020, Tinashe appeared on Rolling Stoneโ€˜s Useful Idiots podcast to talk about her political involvement in the Black Lives Matter protest and during Covid-19.

โ€œItโ€™s been a wakeup call for me especially โ€” as an entertainer, someone whoโ€™s a public figure โ€” just realizing that thereโ€™s so many more important things than whatโ€™s happening inside of your current, day-to-day bubbleโ€ฆI think this year, with everybody slowing down and just being at home, and having so much time to reflect and really think about things, I think itโ€™s been the perfect storm to create this highly contentious political environment,โ€ she said at the time.

โ€œI was really more focused on how I was able to spread the word, get the real truth about what Black Lives Matter really stands for across to my fans as a public figure,โ€ Tinashe continued, adding, โ€œItโ€™s my responsibility to explain my view on things that matter to me.โ€
