TLC’s Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas Denies Supporting Donald Trump Agenda: ‘I Am Not MAGA’

TLC‘s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas has spoken out about reports that she made multiple donations to Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign after receiving backlash from fans. “I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people,” Thomas wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday (March 29).

“I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans,” she added. “Two things I care deeply about as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children. I have learned a valuable lesson and ask for grace as I navigate this.”

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records appear to show that a Rozonda Thomas of Georgia made 17 donations to a variety of organizations in 2024, including WinRed (a fundraising platform for the Republican Party), the Trump National Committee JFC, INC. and Never Surrender, Inc. (a political leadership PAC associated with Trump.)

Thomas also posted a video addressing the reports she called “very concerning” tied to another since-deleted post from earlier this month in which she allegedly reshared a right-wing conspiracy theory alleging that former First Lady Michelle Obama is not a biological woman. “I have the utmost respect and admiration for Michelle Obama, and I would never say or do anything that is disrespectful to her or to any woman. I would never do that,” Thomas said. “And I had no clue that this repost had happened until I started getting phone calls and text messages from everybody, and I immediately went to my page to see what was going on.”

Thomas, who said she was “not very computer savvy,” appeared to suggest the repost was accidental. “I’m looking for this repost button, and I see that all of them, all of these buttons are very, very close to each other, and clearly I was scrolling and my thumb hit the repost button,” she said. Again, I had no clue that something like this happened until I got all the calls.”

The controversy came just days after TLC announced that they were joining two other ’90s hip-hop/R&B icons for the It’s Iconic tour, which will also feature coheadliners Salt-N-Pepa and openers En Vogue. The trio of groups announced the dates for the tour three days before they performed together for the first time at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards last Thursday. The It’s Iconic tour is slated to kick off on Aug. 15 in Franklin, Tenn.
