Travis Scott Directs Visual for ‘Odyssey’ Song ‘When I’m Home’

Scott directs and stars in the new visual with James Blake and Ludwig Goransson following the release of the film’s closing song

Amid the buzz surrounding The Odyssey, Travis Scott has released the visuals for “When I’m Home,” the film’s end-credit track. Created in collaboration with James Blake and Ludwig Goransson, the song was released on July 17, and now the accompanying music video has arrived.

Earlier this month on The Tonight Show, Scott revealed that he stepped behind the camera for the project. “I actually directed the video, which I’m so proud of,” he shared. This isn’t Scott’s first time directing; he previously helmed Circus Maximus, the companion short film to his 2023 album Utopia.

The five-minute visual follows Scott, Blake, and Goransson through a dark, cinematic landscape set in the woods, centered around a makeshift temple that eventually transforms into a fiery backdrop. Throughout the video, the trio performs their respective parts, with Scott blasting a flamethrower as the visuals unfold.

Announcing the video’s release, Scott wrote: “Cactus Jack squad walked me thru the valleys of Swiss for this one, and Mahfuz nonetheless.”

Scott recently made his feature film acting debut in The Odyssey. He previously admitted he was “nervous as F” about taking on the role, explaining that director Christopher Nolan allowed him to do more than just contribute music by trusting him with a few lines. Now, Nolan has also entrusted Scott to bring his signature “FE!N” energy to the latest visual expansion of The Odyssey universe.

With the recent announcement of his first-look deal with Paramount, Scott’s growing experience in both acting and directing will ultimately help him with the latest partnership, which allows him to develop projects across film, television, and theater, marking another step in his evolving career.
