Travis Scott is set to receive the I Am Hip Hop Award at the upcoming 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards.
BET has announced that the Houston rapper will be honoured at the show on 15 October.
“Travis Scott is a visionary artist who continues to push the boundaries of music, culture, and live performance,” awards organisers said in a statement.
“With his unmatched creativity and relentless passion, he has redefined what it means to be a captivating, inspiring entertainer within the hip hop genre. We look forward to celebrating him at BET Hip Hop Awards 2024.”
Scott is nominated in six categories, including Song of the Year for FE!N.
The music artist has been a chart staple in 2024, notching three top 10 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to Future and Metro Boomin’s Type S**t and Cinderella, and 21 Savage’s Nee-Nah. He also topped the Billboard 200 last week when his re-released 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo jumped to number one after its vinyl edition shipped to customers.
Megan Thee Stallion leads the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations with 12 nods. The nominees for Hip-hop Artist of the Year are Stallion, Cardi B, GloRilla, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Drake, Future and Kendrick Lamar.
