Tricky has announced his new album ’Different When It’s Silent’ and shared the paranoid single ‘Out Of Place’ – listen below.

It will be the Bristol trip-hop luminary’s first solo album under his own name in six years, following on from 2020’s ‘Fall To Pieces’, and it will be released on July 17 via False Idols – pre-save your copy here.

Tricky has also announced a lengthy UK and European tour, which you can find out about below, and he has shared the lead single ‘Out Of Place’, which features vocals from his longtime collaborator Marta Złakowska.

The song dials into the classic nocturnal, paranoid energy associated with Tricky’s career, with frenetic drum patterns and mournful strings pairing with Złakowska’s eerie vocals. Check out the video here:

Since 2020, Tricky has been working on a number of projects, including the collaborative project ‘Lonely Guest’, ‘Fiften Days’ with producer Mike Theis under the name Theis Thaws and last year’s ‘Out The Way’, a joint release with Złakowska.
