Tyla is set to host the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards.
The South African singer-songwriter has been announced as the host of this year’s edition of the annual awards show, which is set to take place on 21 June in Santa Monica, California.
Tyla has also been nominated in the Favourite Global Music Star and Favourite Music Collaboration categories. She is also the first African pop star to host the Kids’ Choice Awards.
Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar are this year’s leading nominees with four nods each. They are closely followed by Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Selena Gomez and Jelly Roll, with three nominations each.
First-time nominees include Gracie Abrams, Zach Bryan, Jordan Chiles, Frankie Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, Keith Lee, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, Shohei Ohtani, and Florence Pugh.
Nominees for this year’s Favourite Female Artist are Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Katy Perry, Gaga, Gomez, SZA and Taylor Swift.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Drake, Jelly Roll, Lamar, Post Malone, The Weeknd and Travis Scott are in the running for Favourite Male Artist.
The nominees for Favourite Album are Beautifully Broken (Jelly Roll), F-1 Trillion (Malone), GNX (Lamar), Hurry Up Tomorrow (The Weeknd), I Said I Love You First (Gomez and Benny Blanco), Mayhem (Gaga), Short n’ Sweet (Sabrina Carpenter) and Wicked: The Soundtrack.
In the film categories, Grande (Wicked), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Emma Myers (A Minecraft Movie), Jenna Ortega (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Millie Bobby Brown (The Electric State) and Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) are competing for the Favourite Movie Actress award.
Nominated for Favourite Movie Actor are Chris Evans (Red One), Chris Pratt (The Electric State), Dwayne Johnson (Red One), Jack Black (A Minecraft Movie), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie) and Jim Carrey (Sonic the Hedgehog 3).
Nominees for Favourite Movie are A Minecraft Movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Captain America: Brave New World, Descendants: The Rise of Red, Paddington in Peru, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, THUNDERBOLTS* and Wicked.
