Billie Eilish has released a new video for her ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ single ‘Birds Of A Feather’ – check it out below.
The track was included on the singer’s third studio album, which was released in May, and went on to be a successful single, peaking at Number Two in the UK and Number Five in the US.
Now, the song has been given its own official video, directed by Aidan Zamiri. In it, Eilish sings the song while addressing the camera, only for apparently supernatural forces to overtake her, dragging her across the floor and up the walls. Watch it here:
NME reviewed ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ when it dropped in May, awarding it four stars and writing: “Billie came into this process with aspirations to find herself, creatively and personally: ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ remains distinctly unique, a portrait of a singular talent entering young adulthood, exploring her queerness and experiencing the emotional thrill and (sometimes) catastrophe of chasing passion or falling in love.
“In trying to write an album for herself, she’s made one that will resonate harder than anything she’s done before.”
Eilish is also about to head on a giant world tour to support the record, with the first date going down on Sunday (September 29) in Quebec. Visit here to purchase US tickets, here for UK tickets, here for European tickets and here for Australian tickets – and see the full list of dates here.
In preparation for the tour, the singer has partnered with Google Maps to help fans find sustainable transport and food options when they travel to her shows.
She will be the musical guest on the October 19 episode of Saturday Night Live, alongside host Michael Keaton, and she also recently endorsed Kamala Harris in the US presidential race.
It also emerged this week that Eilish is now learning to “do home production without” her brother Finneas, who has produced all three of her albums to date.
