On October 8, Dua Lipa continued her ‘Radical Optimism’ tour at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, where she surprised the audience with a special guest performer. Over the course of the tour, Dua has been paying tribute to local music icons in the city she’s performing in.

This time, she brought out Gwen Stefani for a duet of No Doubt’s ‘Don’t Speak’. Introducing Stefani, Dua Lipa said: “This next song, every night I do something different and I do a song by a local artist. Tonight in Los Angeles, I wanted to dive into one of my personal heroes. One of my favourite artists, someone who I’ve grown up listening to my whole life.”

She continued: “She’s influenced my music, influenced my style. Someone who I love as a performer, and someone who just constantly keeps redefining herself and her music. I just absolutely love that. This incredible woman is here tonight, Los Angeles you lucky fuckers. You get to have the one, the only, Gwen Stefani!”

Watch the introduction below.

After a quick hug, Dua and Stefani dove into No Doubt’s ‘Don’t Speak’. Gwen leads the opening verse as the pair duet over the chorus. Watch the full performance below.

So far, Lipa has covered a number of large artists in the cities she’s performed in all tour long, including Ariana Grande in Miami, Aerosmith in Boston, Sinéad O’Connor in Dublin, Daft Punk in Lyon, Lorde in Zealand and more.

The tour has also seen big-name artists join Lipa for versions of their own songs. So far, these have included Nile Rodgers for ‘Le Freak‘ in New York City, Chaka Khan for ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in Chicago, Jamiroquai for ‘Virtual Insanity’ in London, Neil Finn for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in Auckland, and Kevin Parker for ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in Sydney.

Her two Wembley shows in June later became the subject of a mini-documentary titled Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), which chronicled behind-the-scenes footage and fan vox-pops from the gigs.

As for Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt, they most recently reunited for the LA FireAid benefit concert in late January, where they performed a medley of their greatest hits. The medley was the band’s first show since playing Coachella 2024, which itself was their first concert since 2015.

Speaking about their Coachella reunion in an interview with NME last October, Stefani said: “The No Doubt thing was so crazy. It’s not like we made a decision to not do anything, or not hang out or talk,” she said.

“Everybody’s lives just happened. You know, the time we stopped [in 2015] was when I was going through my horrible family breakup – I don’t like to say the word ‘divorce’, because it’s just such a disgusting word. But my life just blew up, it really did. A lot of people are like, ‘Why did it take so long [for No Doubt to reform]?’ But when you have a family, eight years goes by like that. To heal from what happened, I mean it’s still happening, I’m still trying to get through it.”
