Edwyn Collins reunited with his former Orange Juice bandmates James Kirk and Steven Daly at his final ever Glasgow show.
The singer announced his farewell tour, named ‘The Testimonial Tour 2025 – A Last Lap Around The UK’, earlier this year and it kicked off with a show in Hebden Bridge on Thursday (September 25).
On Saturday, he played an emotional final show in his hometown of Glasgow, and the occasion was marked by a reunion of the original line-up of the landmark indie band, with guitarist Kirk and drummer Daly joining Collins. Original bassist David McClymont was absent as he lives in Australia.
It was the first time the three have played in public together since Kirk and Daly left the band in 1982, and they played versions of ‘Felicity’, from their 1982 debut album ‘You Can’t Hide Your Love Forever’, and the 1980 single ‘Blue Boy’.

Collins took to Instagram after the show, sharing photographs from the stage and writing: “To hear ‘Blueboy’ and ‘Felicity’ played by James and Steven with me in Glasgow. Just like this. First time together onstage in 44 years. Emotional.”

Orange Juice formed in 1979 in Glasgow and they quickly became one of the pioneers of the indie pop sound of the early ‘80s, heavily influencing the development of British independent music with their jangly guitars and introspective, witty lyrics. After Kirk and Daly left in 1982, the band went through multiple line-up changes and released two further albums. They eventually split in 1985.

In 2005, the singer was hospitalised after suffering two cerebral haemorrhages which resulted in him temporarily losing the ability to speak. He spoke about his recovery in 2019, telling The Guardian: “I was in hospital for six months and for all that time I couldn’t speak… I was just inside my mind. I was so scared. Thanks to my therapist I’ve got an awful lot back that I lost. They’ve given me my life back.”
