Watch Florence Welch join Paris Paloma for ‘Labour’ at Berlin show

Florence Welch joined Paris Paloma for a joint performance of ‘Labour’ in Berlin last night (Monday March 9). Check out the footage below.

Paloma opened for Florence + The Machine on the UK and European leg of their ‘Everybody Scream’ arena tour, which came to a close in the German capital yesterday.

The support slot concluded with Paloma’s hit 2023 single ‘Labour’, which has racked up over 382million streams on Spotify and reached the top 30 in the UK charts (via Official Charts).

Paloma invited Welch to join her onstage at Berlin’s Uber Arena to close her nine-song gig. Check out a selection of fan-shot videos of the performance here:

In 2023, NME said Paloma’s music evoked “the vivid, quietly powerful lyricism of artists like Florence Welch and Hozier” when speaking to the artist about her viral hit.

“I think as an artist there’s defining moments in your career, and sometimes it’s difficult to notice them when they’re happening,” Paloma explained.

“Most of the time it’s retrospective; but I know this is a really pivotal point in my music career and my relationship with my listenership, and that’s amazing. I feel very lucky to be aware of it as it’s happening.”

She continued: “I really need to start watching Game Of Thrones because this happened with ‘Labour’ and [previous single] ‘The Fruits’ – they both get used very heavily for House Of The Dragon and Game Of Thrones fan edits online. I swear to god I know so much about that show just through watching edits of my own songs. I’ve never seen that show, and I’m trying to piece together the plot, so let’s see if we can do it just by watching edits people make to ‘Labour’!”

Elsewhere on F+TM’s ‘Everybody Scream’ tour, Welch brought out IDLES’ Mark Bowen – who collaborated with her on her latest album. The trek featured two shows at The O2 in London, as well as stops in Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Manchester and more cities.

The North American leg of the tour kicks off next month, before the band make appearances at numerous UK and European festivals. These include headline slots at Reading & Leeds, Mad Cool and NOS Alive.

In a glowing, five-star review of ‘Everybody Scream’, NME wrote: “While 2022’s ‘Dance Fever’ wrestled with the option of motherhood, much of ‘Everybody Scream’ dwells on mortality, often resembling both an homage and a prayer to generations of women who came before and will come after.

“It’s an album that aches and pulses with a sense of urgency – catharsis perhaps too plain a word to define the frenzy that runs through it.”
