Watch Foo Fighters play rarities with LA Philharmonic Orchestra at Hollywood Bowl

Foo Fighters have performed a set of hits and rarities with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra – check out footage below.

The band took to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl yesterday (August 22), backed by the full orchestra, as well as members of the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, with Gustavo Dudamel conducting.

The concert was part of a series of shows celebrating Dudamel’s 17-year tenure at the LA Philharmonic, and it saw Foo Fighters play 15 songs, including hits such as ‘All My Life’, ‘The Pretender’, ‘Learn To Fly’ and ‘Best Of You’.

The band also dug deep to play a few rarities from their back catalogue, including the first performance of ‘I Should Have Known’ since 2012, as well as ‘Razor’ for the first time since 2006 and ‘Home’ for the first time since 2007.

They dedicated ‘Aurora’ to their late drummer Taylor Hawkins and ended the show with ‘Everlong’ as fireworks went off in the Hollywood sky.

Watch footage here:

Foo Fighters played:

‘Times Like These’
‘All My Life’
‘The Pretender’
‘Walk’
‘A320’
‘My Hero’
‘Learn To Fly’
‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’
‘Run’
‘I Should Have Known’
‘Razor’
‘Aurora’
‘Best Of You’
‘Home’
‘Everlong’

Dave Grohl had previously played with Dudamel and the orchestra at Coachella 2025, where they played versions of ‘The Sky Is A Neighborhood’ and ‘Everlong’.

The band are currently touring to support their 12th studio album ‘Your Favorite Toy’, which was released in April. NME gave it three-and-a-half stars, writing: “For now, at least, they have remembered that no-frills punk, played fast and loud, suits them much better than middle-of-the-road dad-rock.”

NME was at one of the Anfield shows, awarding it four stars and writing: “It all feels a little too familiar to the usual Foos fare, but Radiohead they are not. This is what they do. Grohl asks why oh why the band are only playing these two Liverpool gigs in their home away from home of the UK this year, but assures us that this is merely  “a cocktail party before the big dinner” – with talk of some big plans in Blighty for 2027. For now, “this is just the first date”, so pucker up for Saturday and party on.”

Earlier this month, the band released the live EP ‘Are Playing Where??? Vol. II’, featuring six recordings captured at intimate shows in New York and New Jersey.

They next head to Rock In Rio on September 4, and will then open for AC/DC for “one night only” in St. Louis, before resuming their own tour – see all the dates and ticket information here.

Grohl has described the chance to support AC/DC as “literally a dream come true”, telling fans: “If you want blood…you’ve got it. Let there be fucking rock, St. Louis.”
