At their show on Tuesday night (March 24) at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, Geese paid their respects to local legends the Stone Roses with a cover of the band’s 1989 track “Fools Gold.” They reportedly wove it into “2122,” a song from 2023’s 3D Country which the group often works a cover into during live performances. Watch it go down below.

Geese has given the Stone Roses their flowers before. When Geese won International Group of the Year at last month’s BRIT Awards (their first major award win), Max Bassin shouted out the Stone Roses’ late frontman Gary “Mani” Mounfield in a short acceptance speech: “Free Palestine, fuck ICE, RIP Mani, let’s go Geese.”

The New York band is currently in the midst of a world tour in support of 2025’s Getting Killed. The run, which began last year with a North American leg, concludes tonight, March 25, with a show at London’s O2 Kentish Town. This summer, the band will primarily play festival dates, making stops at Primavera Sound, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and more.
