Iggy Pop has broken out classic tracks at Coachella 2026 and ended his set by being wheeled away in a coffin. Check out footage, the setlist, and fan reactions below.
The punk pioneer made his latest appearance at the iconic California music festival this past weekend – having played there solo for the first time in 2001, before reuniting with his band The Stooges for the first time in three decades back in 2003.
As hoped for, the latest set at this year’s instalment saw Pop break out countless classics from both his solo discography and his time with The Stooges. It was the latter that made up the vast majority of the setlist, with the show opening with back-to-back renditions of ‘T.V. Eye’, ‘Raw Power’, ‘I Got A Right’ and ‘Gimme Danger’, before heading into two solo fan favourites: ‘The Passenger’ and ‘Lust For Life’.
Other hits Iggy broke out in the 14-song setlist were classics ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ and ‘Search And Destroy’, and he introduced the song ‘1970’ by making a nod to his age.
“It’s not easy being alive now. It’s not easy to be old… it’s not easy to be young,” the singer, who is set to turn 79 on April 21 said, introducing the song. “It wasn’t easy then.”

As well as rattling through his biggest hits from over the past few decades, the punk godfather also ended his show with a bang too – getting into a black, red fur-lined coffin, and playfully crossing his arms over his chest and sticks his tongue out.
The lid was then closed over him, and he was wheeled off the stage that way, with his arm sticking out the side and waving to the crowd along the way. That theatrical exit from the stage is the same way he ended his sets during the 2025 UK tour he embarked on last year (via New York Post).
Already the set has been one that got fans talking, with multiple viewers taking to social media to celebrate the energy and charisma the artist can display, even well into his 70s.
“Iggy Pop’s show at #Coachella is a pure wild discharge of raw energy,” one wrote. “It’s incredible and impressive that at 78-years-old he still dominates the stage like few others: raw, electric, and absolutely hypnotic. The father of punk in his most alive form.”
“It is amazing that Iggy Pop can do what he’s doing at nearly 80 years old, but if he wore a shirt no one would mind,” one person quipped, while anther responded: “He was born shirtless and he’ll die shirtless.”

Iggy Pop’s 19th and latest solo LP, ‘Every Loser’, arrived in 2023, and since then he has released a live album called ‘Live At Montreux Jazz Festival 2023’ and played ‘Punkrocker’, which features prominently in Superman, for the time ever.
In 2022, the punk pioneer spoke to NME about his legacy and impact on pop culture over the past few decades.
“I suppose if I was another person, I could sit down and graph all that out and come up with some sort of a schematic plan to capitalise a little bit more, but I’m not,” he told us.
“I have noticed life has become a little easier and more rewarding in certain areas than it used to be and seems to continue that way, which really surprises me. Mostly I’m grateful there are people who’ve listened to the music and enjoy it.”
He went on to say: “It really surprises me. I always assumed there would be an arc and things would quiet down after I hit 65. That hasn’t been the case.”
