Watch Jack Osbourne tearfully share Ozzy’s reaction to final concert with Billy Corgan: “He was so happy”

Jack Osbourne has looked back at his father, Ozzy’s, response to the final concert – and told Billy Corgan about how “happy” he was at the event.

The Prince Of Darkness died of a heart attack in July 2025, just weeks after playing at Black Sabbath’s huge farewell show, ‘Back To The Beginning’, in their hometown of Birmingham. He was 76 years old.

At the end of last year, Sharon recalled the touching final words that Ozzy said to her, and Ozzy’s funeral cortege started at the site of that final gig, before travelling through the city centre in a procession attended by thousands of fans.

Now, Jack Osbourne has tearfully shared what his father thought of the farewell show, and told Billy Corgan that the Black Sabbath icon was “so happy” after.

Speaking while on The Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman’s podcast, The Magnificent Others, Jack started speaking about his father’s insecurities over the years, sharing: “When left to his own devices, that kind of darkness of ‘I am less than, I suck, I’m not worthy’ would really take over.”

Corgan then chimed in and said how he had heard similar things from Ozzy’s longtime photographer, Ross Halfin, after the ‘Back To The Beginning’ gig.

“Ross said to me after the final show in Birmingham [that] every gig that he ever shot your dad – going all the way back to the ’70s – your dad would be like, ‘I was terrible. I’m so embarrassed, I can’t believe these people are cheering for me.’”

Corgan continued: “And he said the last gig was the only time he didn’t say that.”

Jack then responded, sharing: “Oh, he was so happy. It was the craziest thing. I ran into the dressing room, and I was like, ‘You did it!’”

He then got emotional as he recalled the moment, adding: “I’m only crying because of [my father’s] joy. He was so happy.” Check out the full interview above.

The interview comes following Jack sharing an update on the long-mooted biopic about his late father, revealing that a “phenomenal actor” will take on the role of Ozzy.

Earlier this month, Post Malone, Slash, Chad Smith and Duff McKagan performed ‘War Pigs’ to honour the life and legacy of Ozzy at the Grammys 2026. The ceremony saw Yungblud dedicate his first-ever Grammy to the late star, too.

Since then, a cassette recording of Ozzy rehearsing in 1980 has been unearthed, and Sharon Osbourne has shared her approval after hundreds of fans dressed up as Ozzy for this year’s Mardi Gras.
