SZA released her own collection of reimagined versions of ‘Kill Bill’ last year, including a vocals-only, instrumental and sped up version.
She later dropped an acoustic rendition, before sharing a version of ‘Kiss Me More’ collaborator Doja Cat.
Musgraves’ cover of ‘Kill Bill’ also isn’t the only hit she’s taken on in recent weeks. She also performed a snippet of Chappell Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’ while kicking off the North American leg of her ‘Deeper Well’ tour at the Bryce Jordan Center in Pennsylvania.
Before that, she was Sabrina Carpenter‘s special guest at Outside Lands Festival back in August where the pair gave a memorable performance of Nancy Sinatra’s ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin”.
NME awarded Musgraves’ new album ‘Deeper Well’ three stars, describing it as an album that navigates “new beginnings” with “mixed results”.
It continued: “On her sixth album, the country crossover star tries to move on – but has to work through musical and lyrical missteps on the way.”
The country star also visited the UK earlier this year, delivering a show in London that NME praised as “a spellbinding smash”. The review added: “The country crossover star’s show in the capital gives new life to her recent material.”
