Watch Katy Perry get stuck inside giant bottle as crowdsurf stunt goes wrong

Katy Perry has gotten stuck inside a giant inflatable bottle while trying to crowdsurf.

The incident occurred on July 22, where the popstar was performing at the Isle of MTV Malta festival.

There, she clambered inside a ginormous water bottle to perform her hit songs ‘Hot N Cold’ and ‘I Kissed A Girl’.

However, fans apparently did not roll Perry towards the stage, leaving ‘The One That Got Away’ singer stranded in the crowd. At one point, the popstar tried to direct the crowd to the stage with her fans – but fans guided the water bottle further away from her destination.

Perry was eventually rolled back to the stage.

Recently, Katy Perry condemned the White House for using her song ‘Firework’ to soundtrack footage of US military strikes on Iran.

“I am deeply appalled and angry to see ‘Firework’ used on the White House TikTok as a backing track for video footage of military strikes,” she wrote on social media. “I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.

“I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments,” she continued to say. “To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponised to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.”

Meanwhile, Perry teased her new song during her set at Rock in Rio Lisbon.

“I’ll admit, I lost my roar for a little bit,” the singer told the crowd. “It was just a whisper, but as I’m about to release my next song next week – ‘Watch It Burn’ – I will tell you, my roar is back.”

‘Watch It Burn’, which dropped on June 25, is Perry’s first new music since her 2024 album ‘143’.

In our two-star review, we wrote that ‘143’ “sometimes hits the target but rarely leaves a lasting impression. Pop fans have a fondness for resurrecting “flop” albums that were given short shrift when they first came out: Mariah Carey’s ill-fated soundtrack album ‘Glitter’ and Christina Aguilera’s sonic hodgepodge ‘Bionic’ have both become cult classics of sorts.

“But even this fate seems unlikely for ‘143’, a serviceable but slightly dull collection on which Perry struggles to relocate her old sense of fun.”

Elsewhere, Katy Perry ‘Lifetimes’ concert film will screen across 150 cinemas in the UK after her tour raised over £80k for the Music Venue Trust.
