Watch Madonna’s epic, star-studded ‘Confessions II The Film’

Madonna has released her star-studded short film accompaniment to her upcoming album ‘Confessions II’ – watch below.

The pop megastar is gearing up to release her 15th studio record on July 3, the spiritual follow-up to 2005’s ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’, and you can pre-order/pre-save your copy here.

Confessions II – The Film received its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York on Friday (June 5) and was released globally on YouTube earlier today (June 8). The 14-minute video sees her alongside the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, with whom she has released the single ‘I Feel So Fine’, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kate Moss.

Also popping up in the film are Julia Garner, Shygirl, Arca, Gwendoline Christie, Richard E. Grant, Honey Dijon, Odessa A’zion, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon and Chelsea players Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro.

It is set to six songs from the album: ‘I Feel So Free’, ‘Good For The Soul’, ‘One Step Away’, ‘Bring Your Love’, ‘Danceteria’ and ‘Read My Lips’, with Feid.

Watch Confessions II – The Film here:

It opens with Madonna backstage at a venue with a team of female robots on her trail, before she moves into a forest and dances with lasers emanating from between her legs. She then crashes while driving to a rave at a nightclub, before an impromptu dance party breaks out in the bathroom with all of the above stars.

Madonna surprised fans in New York City on Thursday night (June 4), playing an impromptu set at Times Square where she gave a live debut to the new song ‘Love Sensation’, which she later released to streaming services.

‘Confessions II’ will be Madonna’s first record since her 14th album ‘Madame X’, which arrived in 2019, and it sees her reuniting with ‘Confessions’ producer Stuart Price.

“When Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto: We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,” Madonna explained.

“To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people,” she added. “Sound, light, and vibration reshape our perceptions, pulling us into a trance-like state. The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.”

In the run up to the album release date, Kylie Minogue has responded to rumours of a Madonna collaboration on ‘Confessions II’, and Linda Perry has expressed her desire to produce for Madonna, describing her latest music as “weak” and “trying to compete with Charli XCX“.

Madonna has also been confirmed as one of the co-headliners for the first ever FIFA World Cup halftime show, alongside Shakira and BTS, and has implored fans to “put your fucking phones down and connect” when at live shows.
