Robyn performed her new single ‘Sexistential’ on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week. Check out the video below.

The Swedish pop star delivered a sensual rendition of the title track from her upcoming ninth album during an appearance on CBS talk show on Wednesday night (January 7).

For the energetic and charged TV performance, Robyn began in a pose on the stage floor before writhing around in front of a screen displaying lyrics and graphics from the official ‘Sexistential’ video.

These included “f*** a single mum” and a line about her having “a kid on my own“. The song also sees her rap about how her doctor had asked who would be her “dream donor“.

Robyn previously described the ‘Sexistential’ title track as “possibly the world’s first rap about having one-night stands while 10 weeks pregnant after IVF”. She added: “It was my cue. I have to do this, I have to write a rap about IVF.”

The singer-songwriter has released two other songs from her ‘Sexistential’ album, ‘Dopamine’ and ‘Talk To Me’. When announcing the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s ‘Honey’, Robyn explained: “Exploring my sensual life is the same feeling as when I make a good song.”

She continued: “It’s such a beautiful kind of sensitive vibration that takes so much work to keep afloat. I feel like the purpose of my life is to stay horny – it doesn’t even have to be about sex, but it’s feeling sensual and attracted to things that I enjoy, and not letting anything take over that.”

Robyn co-produced the LP with her longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund. ‘Sexistential’ is out on March 27 via Young – pre-order/pre-save here.

Robyn played in New York City on New Year’s Eve, where she debuted the ‘Sexistential’ title track and ‘Talk To Me’. The previous month, the singer took to the stage in LA for her first full performance since 2019. In December, Jamie xx shared a trancey remix of ‘Dopamine’.

Last year, she made guest appearances on stage with David Byrne, Gracie Abrams and Jamie xx, and remixed Charli XCX’s ‘360’ with Yung Lean in 2024.

Robyn earned the Number One spot on NME‘s Best Song Of The Decade list in 2019 with her huge 2010 hit ‘Dancing On My Own’. She was also named the Songwriter Of The Decade at the NME Awards 2020.
