Watch Tyler, the Creator’s explosive 2026 Grammys performance of ‘Thought I Was Dead’ and ‘Sugar On My Tongue’

Tyler, The Creator delivered an explosive performance of his tracks ‘Thought I Was Dead’ and ‘Sugar On My Tongue’ at this year’s Grammys. Check out footage below.

The rapper, singer and record producer took to the stage for the 68th annual awards ceremony, which was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles last night (Sunday February 1).

On the night, he was up for Album of the Year, Best Album Cover, and Best Rap Album thanks to his record ‘Chromakopia’, as well as Best Rap Song for his track ‘Sticky’ featuring GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne.

He was also nominated for Best Rap Performance for ‘Darling, I’ featuring Teezo Touchdown, and Best Alternative Music Album for another one of his LPs, ‘Don’t Touch The Glass’.

When he took to the stage to perform live, he kicked things off by walking out wearing the same get-up as on the ‘Chromakopia’ album cover, and joined by numerous backing dancers who dressed similarly.

From there, the performance switched to black and white, and he performed the track ‘Thought I Was Dead’.

From there, the screen cut to Regina King, who delivered an impassioned spoken-word interlude, before the rapper returned with an outfit change. There, he broke out ‘Sugar On My Tongue’, with a sports car appearing on the stage, and him ending the set by having explosions go off.

While securing multiple nominations this year, ultimately Tyler, The Creator went home with just one trophy – winning in the Best Album Cover category, which was presented for the first time this year.

It was fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar who was the biggest winner on the night, and others taking home trophies included Bad Bunny for Album of the Year, Billie Eilish for Song Of The Year, and Olivia Dean for Best New Artist.

While accepting their awards, both Bad Bunny and Eilish called out ICE, and Olivia Dean seemed to make a jab at US President Donald Trump.

Other winners included Lola Young for Best Pop Solo Performance and Turnstile for Best Rock Album. Other performances came from Sabrina Carpenter who went for an airline theme, Lady Gaga who joined forces with Andrew Watt and Josh Freese, and Justin Bieber, who got fans talking after performing in just his boxer shorts.
