Wolf Alice brought out Anna Calvi and Dove Ellis as surprise guests during their set at Green Man this weekend – check out footage below.

The North London four-piece played on the Welsh festival’s Mountain Stage yesterday (August 23), and they were joined by Calvi and Ellis to perform a rendition of their recent collaborative single for the ‘Help(2)’ charity record, ‘Sunday Light’.
The band’s Ellie Rowsell appeared on the track alongside Ellis, Calvi and Nilüfer Yanya. Earlier this year, producer James Ford spoke to NME about the creation of War Child’s star-studded album, and said Calvi “wanted multiple voices” to feature on it.
“We were all pushing the spirit of collaboration,” he told us. “It was just a case of seeing who else wanted to come down and do some wailing. It’s a very heavy, mournful, almost funeral march of a song, but it’s really beautiful.”
After performing that track at Green Man, they launched into a cover of Mazzy Star’s ‘Fade Into You’ – which you can watch below.

Sunday night marked Wolf Alice’s first ever appearance at the festival, and saw them celebrate the first anniversary of ‘The Clearing’ as well as storm through a catalogue of previous anthems, including ‘Bros’, ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’, ‘Moaning Lisa Smile’ and ‘Giant Peach’.
‘The Clearing’ became Wolf Alice’s second Number One album and earned them a record fourth consecutive Mercury Prize nomination, as well as a BRIT Award.
Speaking to NME about the record, bassist Theo Ellis said: “It was a challenge making this record, and it’s quite challenging to play some parts of it live. So to have that element of growth and not feeling like you’re resting on your laurels is really exciting. I feel like we’re pushing ourselves and there’s still stuff to reach when we play these songs.”
Earlier this summer, the Wolf Alice played a huge homecoming concert at London’s Finsbury Park, which NME was at and awarded five stars. “As they properly finish things off with the blistering ‘Giant Peach’, it’s hard not to feel thankful that Wolf Alice followed their own advice,” the review read. “They’ve been brilliant since the beginning, but over the years, have developed into one of the very best around.”
Wolf Alice are now set to support Olivia Rodrigo on the opening North American leg of her huge ‘Unraveled Tour’ later this year, alongside other special guests including The Last Dinner Party, Devon Again, Die Spitz and Grace Ives.
