Watch Yungblud crowdsurf in a wheelchair after breaking his leg

Yungblud has kicked off his first festival shows since breaking his leg, and has been crowdsurfing in his wheelchair. Check out footage below.

The Doncaster rocker, real name Dominic Harrison, took to social media on Sunday (August 16) to share some images of himself on crutches with an injured leg.

He revealed that he sustained the injury in a motorbike accident, and that he would still be playing his upcoming live shows as planned.

“Leg fucked. Still giggin. Still standin (sort of),” he wrote, before confirming that he’ll still be performing at European festivals Pukkelpop and CA Vilar de Mouros in a few days time. “Portugal and Belgium I’m comin and it’s gonna be fucking mad. See you next week. Let’s ride.”

Now, Yungblud has played the set in Portugal and still delivered his signature move of diving into the crowd during his rendition of his 2022 song ‘Fleabag’ – this time, diving into the crowd in his wheelchair.

Speaking on his community channel, Yungblud said after the gig: “Fucking hell, guys. I can’t believe we got through last night. That was fucking epic.

“Thank you for the energy, Portugal… my team were amazing and the girls that flew out to help me. They’re fucking legends, man. Honestly, they really got me through it… Thank you again. Bit of pain, but fuck it, man. I’ll see you Friday [for a show at Pukkelpop]. It’s gonna be lit.”

He added: “If you’re going to be there on Friday, give me the fucking energy. Honestly, I need it to be wild… I’ve done some ligaments in my knee which is fucking mad. After this show I’m going to get myself operated on, get back to normal, get ready for touring next year.”

His latest run of shows follow a recent performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago last month, among other North American dates. He has also performed at some more European events this summer, including the Czechia edition of BludFest.

Harrison is out on the road in support of his double album, ‘Idols’, the second part of which arrived earlier this year. During a recent concert in Montana, Harrison brought a couple up on stage to reveal their baby’s gender.

In other news, Smashing Pumpkins invited Yungblud to join them on stage when they headlined Lollapalooza last month, and Yungblud also pulled out of his appearance at Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary this summer, saying he was taking time off to “work on myself”.

Towards the start of the year, Yungblud won his first Grammy for Best Rock Performance for his live cover of ‘Changes’ at Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show.

In a four-star review of both halves of ‘Idols’, NME wrote: “It bookmarks the latest chapter in the story of Dominic Harrison with a fairytale ending, now living with the freedom of thought that once eluded him. Sonically, the double album might not redefine the future of rock, but – as the soundtrack to his most successful era yet – it has helped guarantee the future of Yungblud.”
