Wu Lyf announce long-awaited second album ‘A Wave That Will Never Break’ with urgent single ‘Love Your Fate’

Wu Lyf have announced their long-awaited second album, ‘A Wave That Will Never Break’ – listen to new single ‘Love Your Fate’ below.

The Manchester band are due to release the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’ on April 10.

Produced by Sonic Boom, the forthcoming record finds Wu Lyf “sounding as vast and uncompromising as ever”, per a press release. “It carries the scale of a sermon delivered at full volume, music that feels physical, devotional and cathartic,” it adds.

The LP’s opener, ‘Love Your Fate’, was recorded at Lisbon’s Namouche Studios last October. It was created by cutting apart jams, before rebuilding and repurposing the sounds until something coherent emerged.

“To love one’s fate is to look upon all this – without the fantasy of naïve optimism, nor with the cynicism of bitter despair – but with sober acceptance,” explained singer Ellery James Roberts of the track.

“Freedom is the choice that begins with surrender… So love your fate. Love this time, this ache, this burning world.”

In the soaring chorus, he sings: “God only knows what will happen to us/ It is what it is, it’s not what it was/ The horizon is dark, is it true what they say?/ Do we build it all up just to burn it back down?”

The group have decided to share ‘A Wave That Will Never Break’ directly through their own L Y F community rather than prioritising major streaming platforms. They’ve said the move is “less a rejection than an experiment” when “music is instantly accessible everywhere”.

Wu Lyf are making the new songs available via their newly designed WORLDUNITE.ORG alongside journals, early access to tickets, exclusive merch and fan forums. The band are creating a space for the work to be experienced as a whole, instead of being encountered in passing.

“With the help of you all, we have written, recorded, and produced the long-awaited second Wu Lyf record,” they said in a statement.

“The vision for the L Y F has been with us since the start; way back in 2010 when we first sold the white on white bandana with the ‘Heavy pop’ / ‘Concrete Gold’ 12-inch.

“We foresaw a community of like-minds that would gather around the flame of our music, and through whose direct support we could operate with freedom, autonomy & the truth; to play our own (infinite) game – alas we were young, foolish, and didn’t have the means or the infrastructure for the impulse to reach its full potential.”

Wu Lyf continued: “Now, 15 years later, here we are – the initial version of the L Y F membership platform has been an experimental proof of concept. We have learnt a lot from it over the past year, and behind the scenes, we have been building Version 2.0.”

Wu Lyf staged residencies in London and Manchester last year, after debuting some new songs at their first gig in 13 years. They had returned in April 2025 with a new track, ‘A New Life Is Coming’, marking their first material since 2012.

The band later removed the single from Spotify over CEO Daniel Ek’s “investment in AI weaponry”. “Nothing ever changes unless we have the courage to try (& perhaps fail) to do things differently,” they wrote of their decision.
