Yeah Yeah Yeahs are set to pair their new live short film Hidden In Pieces with some classic movies as part of worldwide cinema screenings.
The group recently announced the 22-minute short alongside live album ‘Hidden In Pieces Live At The Royal Albert Hall’, which was recorded at the London venue in June last year.
The short was recorded at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre and captures reworked material in a live setting, and the group have now shared that the film’s limited run in select cinemas later this month will screen as a double feature with a few classics selected by the band and director Barnaby Clay.
Among them are Night Of The Hunter at London’s Rio Cinema Dalston, as well as David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead at Australian and Los Angeles dates.

“I wanted to create a film that not only captured the live performance but also felt close to the spirit of what the band was going for with their shows; something delicate and dream-like, like a precious memory, timeless, emotionally charged and shrouded in mystery,” Clay said.
Meanwhile, ‘Hidden In Pieces Live At The Royal Albert Hall’ is available to stream now, while an expanded digital edition, and vinyl and CD versions, will follow on October 23, which fans can pre-order here. A photograph signed by band members wil go to the first 250 orders.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs undertook their tour last year to mark 25 years, with the live album also drawing upon recording from dates in San Diego, Chicago and New York.
Karen O explained that the tour “was born out of a need to commune with our band and fan family in 2025, after the election”.
“In the past, YYYs haven’t often chosen when to be back at it and out there, it often chooses us,” she added. “It, being the times. We turn to live music when we need that specific quality of depth and light to see us through the times.”
The recording also opens with ‘In Heaven’ from Eraserhead, O explaining: “Thanks also to David Lynch for his everything. His passing came a month before we began this journey and the performance begins with an ode to his legacy.”
Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ latest studio album was 2022’s ‘Cool It Down’, their first in nearly a decade, NME writing in a four-star review that it is “a creative testament to how refreshing it can be for bands to look forward instead of backwards”.
