In 2023 when Rolling Stone included Bad Bunny on the Future 25 list, he was asked what artists he considered to be the future of music. His answer: Young Miko. At the time, the Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and songwriter had just dropped her debut EP, Trap Kitty. Now, Young Miko is riding high off the release of her second studio album, Do Not Disturb, and an opening spot on Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour;” she’s danced alongside Benito himself at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show; and she sold out two headlining nights at Puerto Rico’s most iconic venue, José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum (aka El Choli).

The stunner is also a face of Garnier, who tapped Young Miko to sit down with Rolling Stone’s Julyssa Lopez and perform a secret set for fans in the magazine’s Listening Room as part of their celebration of the Future of Music at SXSW.

“By aligning with Rolling Stone’s Future of Music platform, we were able to position
Garnier within a high-energy cultural moment where artistry, self-expression, and innovation collide,” said Natalie Ferretti, manager of brand engagement for Garnier. “Young Miko embodies Garnier’s ‘Made to Feel Good’ mantra. Beyond her artistry, she prioritizes wellness and happiness as part of her lifestyle, making her a natural partner for Garnier.”

As the event kicked off, guests had a chance to preview Garnier’s own new release: the relaunch of their beloved Vitamin C Micellar Water, now with an improved formula and new packaging. The product gently removes up to 99 percent of makeup and leaves skin instantly brightened. It’s more than just a makeup remover, it’s care infused cleansing so you can remove your glam, not your glow.

The space was glowing, too. Decked out in the products signature citrus shade palette, there was a G themed bar and a full wall displaying the Micellar Cleansing Water for fans to photograph and take home.

After posing with the product, the intimate crowd took their seats for a Q&A with Lopez and Young Miko. The two talked about the star’s career-changing year, including her latest album and what she learned about herself in the process.

“I’ve become more comfortable with myself than ever and in love with the woman that I’m becoming and in love with the artist that I am. It’s brought me closer to myself,” she said of making Do Not Disturb. “It’s ironic because it’s a black and white album—there’s no color in it—but I feel that sometimes in the darkness there is also beauty. Left doesn’t exist without right and light doesn’t exist without dark. You can’t go forward if you don’t go backward. Finding the balance was beautiful, and I think you can feel that when you listen to it.”

She also shared her own beauty secrets with the crowd, especially when it comes to skincare.

“I’m running all over the stage and I sweat a lot, so it’s important for everything to stay in place [during a performance]. Afterwards, I like to be really delicate with my skin taking my makeup off. I do use my micellar water,” she shared as the crowd erupted into applause. “I genuinely use it and it’s really good!”

As was Young Miko’s performance, during which she had the crowd on their feet for favorites like “Likey Likey” and “WASSUP.”

By the end, everyone in the room was glowing and excited to head home with their Garnier Vitamin C Micellar Water and memories of a special encounter that would last a lifetime.
