Zayn Malik has cancelled all of his upcoming U.S. tour dates following a recent hospitalisation.
Earlier this month, the Pillowtalk hitmaker revealed that he would be cutting back his promotional appearances for his new album Konnakol as he was recovering from an undisclosed illness.
Returning to his Instagram Stories on Friday, Zayn announced that he would be cancelling all of his North America tour dates and cutting back on his Europe shows.
“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you’ve shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health,” he wrote. “I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than before.”
The former One Direction star will no longer perform gigs in Dublin, Ireland and Birmingham, U.K.
However, he has added a date for 24 May in Manchester.
The Konnakol Tour – which would have been Zayn’s largest solo tour – will now kick off at The O2 Arena in London on 23 May.
“I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z,” the 33-year-old added.
Zayn released Konnakol, his fifth studio album, on 17 April. It includes the singles Die for Me and Sideways.
