Zayn Malik cancels US tour and cuts UK dates following hospitalisation

Zayn Malik has cancelled all his upcoming US dates and several UK concerts on his upcoming ‘Konnakol’ tour following a hospitalisation for an unspecified illness.

The former One Direction member announced the cancellation of 21 previously scheduled shows, including the entire US run, in an Instagram Story on Friday (May 1). “I’ve had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the Konnakol Tour,” he wrote yesterday.

“I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I’m really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon.”

The ‘What I Am’ singer was hospitalised on the day he released ‘Konnokal’ (April 17), and told fans that he was “unexpectedly recovering” from an unspecified illness.

Posting a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed surrounded by monitors and an IV, he thanked fans for their “love and support” and praised “all the incredible hospital staff of [doctors], nurses, cardiologists, management, admin and everyone who had helped along the way and continue to”.

It echoes the message he shared on his Instagram Story on Friday, where he once again thanked fans for their support following the release of the new album. “And more importantly,” he added, “your love, prayers and well wishes for my health. I’ve felt it, and it’s meant the world. I’ve been at home recovering and I’m doing well and will be better and stronger than ever before.”

Now, the entire US leg of the tour and the first two UK shows have been cancelled, with one rescheduled for May 24 at Manchester’s AO Arena. His official website states that “all current tickets will remain valid for the new Manchester date”, and refunds will be issued for the non-rescheduled shows, either via Ticketmaster or an alternative point of purchase.

You can check out Malik’s remaining tour dates below, and visit here for more information on refunds.

Zayn Malik’s remaining ‘Konnakol’ 2026 tour dates are:

MAY
23 – London, The O2
24 – Manchester, England, AO Arena

JUNE
14 – Monterrey, Mexico, Estadio Borregos
17 – Guadalajara, Mexico, Arena VFG
20 – Mexico City, Mexico, Estadio GNP Seguros

OCTOBER
2 – Santiago, Chile, Movistar Arena
6 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, Movistar Arena
10 – São Paulo, Brazil, Allianz Parque
14 – Lima, Peru, Costa 21

News of the cancelled dates follows reports that a documentary about Malik and former bandmate Louis Tomlinson was reportedly scrapped following an alleged physical altercation between the two.

Last October, it emerged that Netflix would be producing a three-part doc series following the former One Direction singers as they went on a “spontaneous adventure” across the United States.

It was due to offer fans a “rare look” at their lives as they reconnected as friends, and it was to be directed by Nicola Marsh, who has worked on the Netflix version of Song Exploder.

Netflix never officially announced the project, and recent reports suggest that the documentary has been scrapped following an alleged physical altercation between Malik and Tomlinson.

A report in The Sun on Friday (April 17) claimed that six months ago, Malik punched Tomlinson after making a remark about Tomlinson’s mother Johannah, who passed away from leukaemia in 2016 at the age of 43.

The newspaper cited a source who said Malik “punched him straight in the face”, with his ring causing a cut to Tomlinson’s head. The source claimed that Tomlinson was left “stunned and in shock” and he was reportedly taken for medical treatment for a concussion.

Just hours after The Sun’s report was published, Marsh shared the newspaper’s headline on her Instagram Stories, along with the caption: “And there goes the last year of work”.

Neither Malik nor Tomlinson have commented publicly about the reports.

The documentary was set to follow on from Tomlinson making an appearance during Malik’s show in Los Angeles in January 2025, their first public reunion since Liam Payne’s funeral the previous November.
