Amidst the excitement of music’s premier weekend, three-time Grammy® winner Olivia Rodrigo was presented with the fourth annual Universal Music Group x REVERB Amplifier Award. The prestigious honor was delivered during Sir Lucian Grainge’s 2026 Music is Universal Artist Showcase at NYA Studios, marking a significant moment where artistic excellence met social responsibility.

Established through a partnership between Universal Music Group (UMG) and the environmental nonprofit REVERB, the Amplifier Award recognizes artists who leverage their global reach to inspire tangible, real-world action. Rodrigo, known for her candid songwriting and fierce advocacy, joins an elite group of performers celebrated for integrating purpose into their fan communities.

The award was presented by Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of UMG, alongside REVERB Co-Founders Lauren Sullivan and Adam Gardner. Their collaboration underscores a shared mission: mobilizing the cultural power of music to tackle environmental sustainability and social justice.

“Music has always been about more than sound. It’s about connection and telling the truth,” Rodrigo stated during her acceptance. “This award is an important reminder that artists can be a force for real, lasting change. Now, more than ever, our platforms can amplify more than our own voices.”

Industry leaders were quick to praise Rodrigo’s impact. Susan Mazo, Chief Impact Officer at UMG, noted that Rodrigo leads with an authenticity that inspires a generation to “move with purpose.” Lauren Sullivan added that Rodrigo represents a modern shift in the industry, where activism is becoming the expectation rather than the exception—specifically citing the artist’s work in ensuring an equitable future for women and girls.

By spotlighting Rodrigo’s leadership, the 2026 Artist Showcase reinforced that the modern music landscape is defined as much by its responsibility to the planet and its people as it is by its chart-topping hits.
