Demi Lovato has canceled five shows and pushed back the start of her upcoming tour in support of It’s Not That Deep after realizing she “overextended what may be possible” when it came to her 23-show tour.

It will now kick off in Orlando on April 13. Previously planned stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Denver, and Charlotte, North Carolina have been canceled.

“My Lovatics — I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can,” Lovato wrote on Instagram on Tuesday morning. “While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible. To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”

Addressing fans in the cities that have been removed from the tour, Lovato added, “I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there.”

Those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster and AXS will be issued refunds automatically, while those who bought tickets on a third-party reseller website, like StubHub, SeatGeek or VividSeats, will need to contact the vendor to request a refund.

Lovato announced the It’s Not That Deep tour back in October, to accompany her ninth studio album, which Lovato has described as a return to her electronic-pop roots. Accompanying her on the road will be Adéla, whom Lovato called “an absolute star that is going to blow your mind.”
