Mel B has revealed she would be on tour with the Spice Girls right now if she had her way.
The singer once known as Scary Spice told all to Page Six at a beauty event in Los Angeles, just days after reports claimed the group’s 30th-anniversary reunion was a non-starter.
“In a perfect world, we’d already be on tour right now, touring the whole entire world,” Melanie Brown told the outlet.
“I’m always the one going, ‘Yes, we’re going on tour,'” she added. “I would love to go on tour. I would love to do music, but it isn’t happening.”
The US Sun reported last week that the girl group had “failed to reach an agreement” about the possibility of a tour.
“July will be the 30th anniversary of Wannabe being released,” fellow band member Melanie C explained on Australia’s The Smallzy Show radio programme last week. “And then later in the year, Spice, the first album. So, yeah, it’s a big one. And no, there is no reunion.
“We are communicating all the time, we want to do something. Who knows when? But I still feel very optimistic, and I keep my fingers crossed that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.”
The Spice Girls officially broke up in 2000 but reunited for a performance at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony in London.
The group briefly toured in 2019 without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, but privately reunited for a casual performance at the fashion designer’s 50th birthday party in April 2024.
