Liam Gallagher has had a change of heart about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame now that Oasis has been voted for induction later this year.
The Wonderwall hitmakers were voted into the famed music institution on their third nomination, and they will be inducted alongside Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Billy Idol, Sade, the late Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.
Gallagher, who was critical of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after the band’s first nomination in 2024, appeared to have a change of heart about the organisation on X.
“Reverse psychology vibes in the area Oasis RnR hall of farmers I mean famers,” he wrote, seemingly referring to his remarks about their previous two nominations.
“I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream (sic),” he continued.
Responding to a series of fan messages, the frontman confirmed that he planned to attend the induction ceremony in November and bring “a box of chocolates and flowers and apologize to the organizers for my ignorance”.
When asked “what happened to not wanting to be in” the Hall of Fame, he replied, “Well I was speaking to my mummy last night when the news broke and she thinks I may have been a little hasty with my perception of the organization she’s told me to stop being a d**k and go to the awards and behave and you never know you might enjoy it.”
The British musician had some harsh words about the institution back in 2024, writing on X, “F**k the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” and told his fans not to vote for them because “it’s all a load of B**lox (sic)”.
When they were nominated again in 2025, he declared that the Hall of Fame is for “w**kers”. When asked about that comment after Oasis were named inductees, he replied, “It was until last night.”
Oasis, who reunited for a major world tour last year, will be inducted on 14 November at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
