After a pair of records under aliases, Tricky is back to his own artist name for his formal follow-up to 2020’s Fall to Pieces. Out July 17 via False Idols, Different When It’s Silent was recorded between the trip-hop innovator’s new home of France and old hometown of Bristol. In a press release, Tricky says simply, “I just love making music. I’m grateful I’ve had the chance to live this life and keep creating.” Since Fall to Pieces, he has released music via the Lonely Guest and Theis Thaws projects, as well as sharing a joint record with Marta called Out the Way last year.
