Stella McCartney releases exclusive, limited edition Paul McCartney ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ t-shirt

Stella McCartney has released an exclusive, limited edition t-shirt, made in celebration of Paul McCartney’s new album ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane‘.

The record dropped last week (Friday May 29), and is the first from the music legend since 2020’s ‘McCartney III’. Throughout the 14-song tracklist he opens up about his younger years in a way not seen before – recalling his childhood in Liverpool, the resilience of his parents, early adventures shared with George Harrison and John Lennon before they found fame with The Beatles, and more.

There is also his first duet with former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr on ‘Home To Us’, which also features Texas’ Sharleen Spiteri and The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde.

Now, in celebration of the record, Stella McCartney – renowned British fashion designer and daughter of Paul and Linda McCartney – has designed an exclusive, limited edition t-shirt inspired by the cover.

The unisex design draws inspiration from the imagery and storytelling throughout Paul’s new album. It shows the Dungeon Lane street sign from the album cover featured at the centre of a white tee, as well as two blue tits perched on top.

The birds are a nod to the pre-fame memories her father recalls in the songs – particularly his afternoons by the Mersey with his birdwatching book in hand – and also are the same design she uses throughout her own Summer of Love 2026 collection.

Out now, the shirt is exclusively for UK customers who buy Paul’s new album, and will be available from today (Tuesday June 2) until midnight tomorrow (Wednesday June 3). Visit here for more information.

NME gave ‘The Boys Of Dungeon Lane’ a four-star review, and described it as “a guided tour of the long and winding road”.

“Elsewhere, against all odds, given that this album arrives some 63 years after the Beatles’ debut ‘Please Please Me’, Macca actually makes history on ‘The Boys Of Dungeon Lane’,” the review read.

“Remarkably, the jaunty ‘Home To Us’ is his first-ever duet with Ringo Starr, who assists him in celebrating their rough-and-tumble hometown. ‘Days We Left Behind’, though, is the album’s real tear-jerker, as Paul nods to the “secret code” he shared with John Lennon but will never reveal,” it added. “Still, despite the absence of any real bombshells, it’s a pleasure to accompany McCartney as he gets back to where he once belonged.”

Ahead of the album’s release, McCartney sat down with NME to look forwards and back on his extraordinary career, share his “excitement” at contributing to the new The Rolling Stones album, and also reveal if he has plans to retire.

“I don’t know. I never know, y’know?” the 83-year-old music icon said, recalling how his manager asked him the same question when he was 50.

He then added that he still wants to perform live as he is aware that there are very few opportunities for fans to hear the music from his era in person, and said that his love of songwriting hasn’t diminished over the years.

“Creative satisfaction is just writing a song – it’s still the same old satisfaction that it was,” he shared. “There’s something magical about it, and I often think, ‘I never set out to be a singer-songwriter person.’ When I was at school, I thought the only thing left for me would be a teacher, because I didn’t have massive qualifications and unfortunately, that mean[t] you have to be a teacher.”

“But I got in the band, and it just led me to this,” he continued. “So, the satisfaction is just being able to write a song and, if you pull it off, that’s the same satisfaction that it always was. Some of them you pull off better than others, but it’s still a great thing.”

The ‘Boys of Dungeon Lane’ t-shirt isn’t the first time that Stella McCartney has released a clothing line to coincide with her father’s music. Back in 2019, the fashion designer unveiled a collection inspired by the iconic Beatles film Yellow Submarine.

The ‘All Together Now’ range included attire for men, women and children, all featuring slogans, characters and colourful graphics inspired by the film. The collection was also worn by Billie Eilish during her set at Glastonbury that year.
