Lucy Dacus to Reissue Debut Album ‘No Burden,’ Shares Unreleased Song

“No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye” leads the 10th anniversary reissue of No Burden which arrives on Dec. 4

Lucy Dacus is reissuing her debut album No Burden to celebrate its 10th anniversary. She’s kicking the festivities off with a bang: today, she is sharing the previously unreleased track “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye.”

No Burden‘s 10th anniversary reissue arrives on Dec. 4. The album will be pressed on a special seaglass vinyl and preorders are ongoing. No Burden includes songs “I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Anymore” and “Strange Torpedo,” among others.

“No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye” was recorded with Adrian Olsen and Dacus’ guitarist Alan Good Parker. The song has become a favorite hidden gem among Dacus’ fans; the singer-songwriter has performed it a handful of times over the years. The song features Good Parker’s fuzzed-out guitar as Dacus sings the heart-wrenching lyrics: “I swore to myself/I would not follow your lead/So why did I get in the car every evening?”

Dacus spent her summer on tour across the United States plus on the festival circuit, including shows at Outside Lands and Newport Folk Festival. She’s concluding her tour by performing alongside Cat Power and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in a special tribute performance of Power’s album The Greatest on Sept. 13 at the Hollywood Bowl.

Dacus’ album Forever Is a Feeling was released last March. Back in April, she released “Planting Tomatoes” as a Record Store Day exclusive 7-inch vinyl, before it appeared on streaming platforms days later.
