Oasis tease Slane Castle concert ahead of 2027 tour announcement

Oasis have seemingly teased a concert at Slane Castle in Ireland ahead of what is expected to be confirmation of their 2027 tour.

The band are expected to head back out on the road next year in the UK and Europe, following on from their Live ’25 reunion trek last summer.

Rumoured venues and dates for the upcoming run include an impressive 12-night homecoming residency in Manchester and a return to Knebworth. The band’s tour promoter SJM have been granted a licence to host gigs at the site of their legendary 1996 Knebworth gigs. Slane Castle has also been mentioned.

Recent days have seen Oasis share video teasers for other locations on their 2027 tour, including Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Boston, and Rome. Another snippet hinted at the Etihad Stadium, containing a football, goalposts and other clues.

Now, a new teaser has dropped which shows a man stood with a tambourine on a stage in a field with a tambourine behind his back on what looks the site of the famous Irish venue.

Fans have spotted that the pose is very similar to a shot of Liam Gallagher standing on stage during Oasis’s performance there in 1995.

They last played at Slane Castle not long before they split in Paris in 2009 before returning to Ireland for shows at Dublin’s Croke Park last year.

Earlier this week, a big drone display appeared over Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium. The Gallagher brothers are lifelong fans of the club, famously playing at their previous ground, Maine Road, in 1996.

Graphic design company Microdot – which created Oasis’ iconic band logo, and has made various artworks for the band – posted a video of the spectacle on social media.

The clip shows Oasis’ logo transform to depict the time “4PM BST”, before changing into the date “14.09.26”. As a result, fans are expecting Oasis to announce their Manchester residency – and perhaps a full UK, European and even North American tour – on Monday afternoon.

Oasis later shared an official video showing the display above the Etihad Stadium and the Manchester skyline at night. Different footage shared by the band was soundtracked by their 2005 chart-topper ‘Lyla’ and 2008 single ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ – neither of which featured on Oasis’ Live 25 tour setlist.

Next week’s tour news will come on the heels of Oasis’ new documentary film, Don’t Look Back In Anger, which arrived in cinemas on Wednesday (September 9). In a four-and-a-half-star review, NME said the movie was “masterfully done, with moments of irreverence and intense passion burning throughout”.

“The impact of the band has never been clearer than over these two hours – as Liam puts it in the final moments, ‘Oasis saves’ – as it reclaims the narrative around them and relives one of the most momentous, miraculous tours of modern times,” it adds. “By the end, you’ll be itching to do it all over again – and maybe, just maybe, we might.”

NME spoke to Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight about his work on the big-screen project. “The question I wanted to answer with this film was: why, after 16 years with no promotion and no marketing, is this music bigger than it’s ever been?” he said.

The directors of the film, Will Southern and Dylan Lovelace, also talked to NME. “It’s shot for spectacle and to put you right in the middle of the crowd,” Southern told us. “If people can watch it on the biggest screen possible, as loud as the cinema is prepared to play it, then they’re going to have a good time!”

Liam and Noel Gallagher attended the premiere of the doc together at the Venice Film Festival, where it received an eight-minute standing ovation. The event marked the brothers’ first off-stage public appearance since Oasis’ reunion tour last year.

Don’t Look Back In Anger sees Noel describe Liam as a word he conceded he “never would have thought” he’d say about him. “We get along now, we text like normal people,” he added. “The music brought us together.”
