Becky G Inspires Schoolchildren in Celebrity Substitute
In a new episode of Celebrity Substitute, Becky G visited Dos Puentes Elementary School in Washington Heights, New York, for Career Day. She delivered a lesson on identity and highlighted Latina heroes like writer and activist Isabel Allende, space engineer Diana Trujillo, and the late superstar Selena, while exploring what it truly means to shine. “A lot of times society tells us who we are supposed to be,” Becky G tells the host Julian Shapiro-Barnum during the episode. “When we’re young, we have this genuine belief that we can be whatever we want to be.”
The 16-minute video wraps up with a special music video featuring the singer and her class, highlighting the Career Day theme. Previous celebrity substitutes have included Rauw Alejandro and Camila Cabello. Becky G is currently promoting her new documentary, Rebecca.

Willy Chavarría premiered his Autumn-Winter 2026 collection, ETERNO (A Casa de Chavarría Film), at Paris Fashion Week on Friday (Jan. 23). The event featured a high-drama musical performance by Mon Laferte and Puerto Rican star Lunay, as models dressed in his signature pachuko-inspired designs walked the runway. Mexican pop group Santos Bravos, Colombian artist Feid and Latin Mafia also made appearances, adding star power to the cinematic showcase. The collection, presented through an Instagram live stream, highlighted Chavarría’s Mexican-American heritage and style with statement-making streetwear — including lowrider bikes and moody cultural imagery. Daddy Yankee Celebrates First Championship as Co-Owner of Los Cangrejeros de Santurce
On Tuesday night (Jan. 20), Puerto Rico’s baseball team Cangrejeros de Santurce clinched their historic 17th championship in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) with a dominant 5–1 victory against the Leones de Ponce in Game 6 of the 2025–2026 Final Series. The win marks the team’s first title since global music legend Daddy Yankee joined as co-owner. Speaking after the victory, Daddy Yankee said in a press release, “This championship is about legacy, unity, and the future of the Cangrejeros and baseball in Puerto Rico.”
Blessd Reveals He’s Expecting His First Child
Colombian star Blessd took to Instagram on Tuesday (Jan. 20) to announce that he and his partner, Manuela, are expecting their first child together. “I have no more scars, I’ve healed my bruises, I’m a warrior against haters, I run marathons, but now I’m expecting a child and he heals my emotions,” the artist wrote in their shared post. “He calms me, he relaxes me, he gives me peace. I just want you to arrive. I’m waiting for you, my child.” The image accompanying the post shows Blessd’s tattooed back as his partner hugs him tightly, holding an ultrasound image and baby shoes in her hands.
Doctor Nativo Pays Tribute to Cacao and Mayan Roots in New Music Video
Guatemalan artist Doctor Nativo’s latest single, “Chokolate Kakaw,” is a homage to cacao as medicine and nourishment within Mayan traditions. The track — part of his forthcoming album BarrioKandela (out March 20 via Stonetree Records) — merges alt-fusion hip-hop with sacred rituals, honoring the preparation of cacao. Featuring Tz’utujil lyrics from Chavahaze, the song bridges linguistic and spiritual worlds, offering a rare glimpse into a living ancestral perspective. Its accompanying video, filmed at Lake Atitlán and directed by Quetzaltenango-based Tavo Salazar, honors the ceremony. Watch the video below.
