If you didn’t get to see Billie Eilish in person on her sold-out Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, you’ll soon be able to live the experience at your nearest movie theater.
The 10-time Grammy-, two-time Oscar-winning singer dropped a new trailer for her upcoming concert film Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) on Monday (April 13). The new three-minute-long trailer follows Eilish and three-time Oscar winner James Cameron as Eilish gets ready to perform for thousands of fans and Cameron prepares to capture the moment.
The teaser shows the two Academy Award winners working together as co-directors to turn their movie ideas into reality.
“It’s your show, it’s your creative vision,” Cameron says at the top of the clip. Together, the duo talks about the technical aspects of filming the concert using 3D cameras and how they want to capture all the different elements of Eilish’s set in a way that translates to the big screen. “This is gonna blow people’s minds.”
On top of getting a look at how Cameron and Eilish filmed the singer’s concert, fans also get behind-the-scenes looks at how Eilish gets ready for a sold-out performance in the trailer. “The day of a show is, for me—it just feels like any day at all,” Eilish says. “I just feel like I’m going to hang out with my friends.”
The trailer, of course, also gives viewers a peek into what to expect from the actual concert footage. The cameras captured every angle of Eilish’s ambitious stage setup as well as sweeping shots of the packed audience. Her songs, including the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Bad Guy” and “Chihiro,” are played over moments of Eilish on- and offstage as the words “Prepare for her vision / her words / her world” flash on the screen.
Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), co-directed by Cameron and Eilish, hits theaters on May 8. Watch the new trailer below.
