Just under a year after sharing his most recent album, Essex Honey, Blood Orange is back with “Essex_Honey.mp3,” his first new song of 2026. The track, which pairs a wistful top synth with a clattering breakbeat, samples Sky Ferreira’s “Everything Is Embarrassing,” which Blood Orange also produced. Check it out below.
Essex Honey, which dropped in July 2025, was Hynes’ first new album under the moniker since 2018. It featured Lorde, Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates, Mustafa, Ian Isiah, Tirzah, Naomi Scott, author Zadie Smith, and more. He brought the record on a tour through the US, Canada, Europe, and the U.K. in fall 2025.
